Cookie Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Kirk Skin Reset uses cookies and other technologies that store information on, or access information from, your device when you visit or interact with our website and online services.

For simplicity, we refer to cookies and these other technologies together as “cookies and similar technologies” or “tracking technologies”.

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how and why we collect, use, share and protect personal information.

1. Who we are

Kirk Skin Reset is a trading name of James Declan Kirk.

You can contact us about privacy or cookie matters at:

kirk@kirkskinreset.com

In this Policy, “Kirk Skin Reset”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the person or legal entity operating Kirk Skin Reset at the relevant time.

If Kirk Skin Reset is subsequently operated through a limited company or other legal entity, we may update this Policy to reflect the new legal controller.

2. What this Policy covers

This Policy applies to kirkskinreset.com and any pages, forms, booking journeys, skin assessments, consultations, ecommerce functions or other online services that we operate and that link to this Policy.

It covers technologies used directly by us as well as technologies supplied by third parties whose services we integrate into our website.

Third-party websites that you visit by following a link from our website are governed by their own privacy and cookie practices.

3. What are cookies and similar technologies?

A cookie is a small file or piece of information that may be stored on your browser or device when you visit a website.

Cookies are only one form of tracking or storage technology. Websites and online services may also use technologies such as:

  • pixels and web beacons;

  • scripts, tags and software development tools;

  • local storage and session storage;

  • device or browser identifiers;

  • link decoration and attribution identifiers;

  • embedded third-party content;

  • conversion tracking;

  • similar technologies that store information on, or access information from, your computer, phone, tablet or other device.

Some technologies operate only for the duration of a browsing session. Others may remain on a device for a longer period.

Some are set by Kirk Skin Reset or through our domain and are commonly described as first-party technologies. Others are supplied or controlled by another organisation and are commonly described as third-party technologies.

4. Why we use these technologies

We use, or may use, cookies and similar technologies for the purposes described below.

A. Strictly necessary technologies

These technologies are required for the website or a service requested by you to operate properly.

They may be used to:

  • deliver website pages and core functionality;

  • maintain security;

  • prevent fraud, abuse and malicious activity;

  • maintain sessions;

  • remember your privacy or cookie choices;

  • enable forms requested by you;

  • operate consultation or booking journeys;

  • authenticate users where accounts are introduced;

  • maintain shopping baskets and checkout sessions if ecommerce functionality is introduced;

  • process transactions or communicate securely with payment providers;

  • detect errors or technical faults; and

  • comply with legal or security requirements.

Where a technology is genuinely necessary to provide a service you have requested, we may use it without asking for optional cookie consent where applicable law permits.

Blocking these technologies through your browser may cause parts of the website or service not to function correctly.

B. Analytics and measurement technologies

With your consent where required, we may use analytics technologies to understand how people use Kirk Skin Reset.

These may help us understand matters such as:

  • how many people visit the website;

  • which pages are visited;

  • how visitors reach the website;

  • approximate geographic information;

  • browser, device and screen information;

  • how long people spend on particular pages;

  • navigation patterns;

  • technical performance;

  • errors and broken journeys;

  • which content is useful; and

  • whether changes to the website improve the user experience.

Analytics information may be aggregated or pseudonymised.

Where applicable law permits limited statistical technologies to be used without prior consent, we will only rely on such an exception where its legal conditions are satisfied. This may include providing clear information about the technology and a simple, free method of objecting.

As a general privacy-protective approach, however, we intend to require consent before activating third-party behavioural analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Hotjar.

C. Experience and functionality technologies

With your consent where required, these technologies may help us improve or personalise your experience.

They may be used to:

  • remember preferences;

  • provide enhanced website functionality;

  • understand interaction with page layouts;

  • conduct user-experience testing;

  • display embedded content;

  • operate surveys;

  • remember completed or dismissed prompts; and

  • diagnose friction within non-sensitive user journeys.

Where local law permits limited preference or appearance technologies without consent, we will only rely on the relevant exception where its conditions are satisfied.

D. Advertising, marketing and conversion technologies

With your prior consent where required, we may use advertising and marketing technologies to:

  • measure whether advertising campaigns lead to visits, bookings, enquiries or purchases;

  • attribute conversions to advertisements or marketing campaigns;

  • build or measure advertising audiences;

  • limit repeated advertising;

  • understand advertising effectiveness;

  • show advertising that may be more relevant to an audience;

  • conduct remarketing or retargeting; and

  • measure interactions with advertisements displayed on third-party platforms.

These technologies may be operated by advertising platforms or other third parties and may allow information about your device or interactions with Kirk Skin Reset to be associated with information held by those providers.

We will not treat advertising or behavioural targeting technologies as strictly necessary.

Where consent is legally required, these technologies will not be activated before the appropriate consent has been provided.

E. Affiliate and attribution technologies

Kirk Skin Reset may participate in affiliate, referral, creator or influencer programmes.

Where these programmes are introduced, cookies, tracking pixels, referral identifiers, promotional codes or link-decoration technologies may be used to identify that a visitor arrived through a particular partner and to attribute a booking, lead or purchase to that partner.

Where required by applicable law, affiliate or attribution tracking that is not strictly necessary will only be used with consent.

We will update our active technology register when an affiliate or attribution provider is introduced.

F. Ecommerce technologies

Kirk Skin Reset may introduce the ability to purchase skincare or related products online.

If ecommerce functionality is introduced, technologies may be used to:

  • maintain a shopping basket;

  • remember checkout progress;

  • process payments;

  • prevent payment fraud;

  • calculate or remember relevant transaction settings;

  • fulfil orders;

  • measure ecommerce performance; and

  • attribute purchases to marketing activity.

Technologies genuinely required to provide a shopping basket, checkout, payment or other service requested by you may be treated as strictly necessary.

Analytics, profiling and advertising technologies associated with ecommerce will remain subject to the relevant consent requirements.

5. Skin consultations, assessments and sensitive information

Kirk Skin Reset may offer skin assessments, questionnaires, consultations or AI-supported consultation experiences.

Information provided through these services may reveal information about your health, skin condition, symptoms, treatment, allergies, medication, pregnancy, medical history or other potentially sensitive matters.

We apply enhanced privacy controls to these areas.

In particular, our intention and policy is that health-related answers, photographs, consultation text and other sensitive consultation content are not used to create advertising audiences, personalise behavioural advertising or target advertising based on an individual's health information.

We also seek to configure advertising pixels, session-recording technologies and similar non-essential behavioural tracking so that they do not capture the contents of sensitive consultation forms or consultation sessions.

Where analytics are used in connection with a consultation journey, we seek to minimise the information collected and prevent analytics providers from receiving the substance of health-related answers, free-text consultation responses, skin photographs or equivalent sensitive content.

Technologies that are genuinely required to operate, secure or maintain a consultation may still be used where appropriate.

Further information about our processing of consultation information and health-related personal information will be provided in our Privacy Policy and, where appropriate, within the consultation experience itself.

6. Our consent approach

Where consent is required, we aim to obtain it before the relevant non-essential technology is activated.

Our cookie controls may allow you to:

Accept all optional technologies

Reject non-essential technologies

Manage individual categories

You should be able to reject non-essential technologies as easily as you can accept them.

Consent is voluntary. Refusing optional analytics or advertising technologies should not prevent you from accessing the ordinary content of the Kirk Skin Reset website.

Your choices may be stored on your device so that we can remember them.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by using the Cookie Settings control available on our website.

Withdrawing consent does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful, but it will prevent the relevant technologies from being used going forward where withdrawal applies.

If you delete cookies, clear your browser storage or use another browser or device, we may no longer be able to recognise your previous choice and may ask you to set your preferences again.

7. Technologies and services we use or plan to use

The technologies used by Kirk Skin Reset will evolve as the website develops.

The following register describes technologies currently used or planned for the website. A technology identified as planned or optional should not be taken to mean that it is active at every point in time.

Because technology providers may update their services, cookie names, technical methods and storage periods, the detailed technologies shown in our cookie preference tool may change from time to time.

Where there is a difference, the live cookie preference tool is intended to identify the technologies that are actively detected and controlled on the website at that time.

We will review this Policy and our technology register when material new tracking services are introduced.

8. Google Analytics 4

We intend to use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use Kirk Skin Reset and to improve the website.

Google Analytics may process information such as browser and device information, approximate location, pages visited, sessions, interactions and traffic-source information.

Google Analytics commonly uses first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish users and maintain session information.

Where consent is required, Google Analytics will be configured so that analytics storage is not granted before the relevant consent is received.

We will not intentionally send health-questionnaire responses, skin photographs or free-text consultation information to Google Analytics.

9. Google Tag Manager

We may use Google Tag Manager to centrally manage scripts, tags and integrations used on the website.

Google Tag Manager is a tag-management system. The fact that a technology is deployed through Tag Manager does not make that technology necessary or exempt from consent.

We aim to configure Tag Manager and our consent solution so that a non-essential tag does not activate until the consent requirements applying to that tag have been met.

10. Microsoft Clarity

We may use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with non-sensitive areas of the website, including navigation, clicks, scrolling and usability.

Clarity can use cookies and similar technologies to associate website interactions with sessions or pseudonymous identifiers.

Where required, Clarity will be subject to analytics consent.

We do not intend to use Clarity to capture the substance of health questionnaires, consultation answers, skin photographs, payment details, passwords or similarly sensitive content.

11. Hotjar

We may use Hotjar to help identify usability problems and understand how visitors interact with non-sensitive areas of Kirk Skin Reset.

Depending on configuration, Hotjar may use first-party cookies, local storage, session storage and other technologies.

Examples can include _hjSessionUser_*, which may persist for approximately 365 days, and _hjSession_*, which is generally associated with a shorter browsing session.

Where required, Hotjar will only operate after analytics/experience consent has been provided.

We intend to exclude sensitive consultation and health-information areas from session recording and equivalent behavioural capture.

12. Advertising and social-media platforms

We may in future use advertising services supplied by providers such as search engines, social networks and other advertising platforms.

Before activating a new advertising provider, we intend to:

  • assess the technology and information it receives;

  • place it within the appropriate consent category;

  • update our cookie controls or technology register where appropriate; and

  • ensure it is not intentionally supplied with health consultation content for behavioural advertising purposes.

Advertising technologies may process identifiers and information about website interactions for conversion measurement, audience creation or advertising.

Where consent is required, they will not be activated until the appropriate consent has been received.

13. Embedded content and external links

Our website may link to or embed content from third parties such as YouTube, Instagram or other platforms.

A normal link does not necessarily mean that the third party places cookies on Kirk Skin Reset before you interact with that link. However, once you visit the third party, its own privacy and cookie practices will apply.

Embedded content may allow a third party to receive information about your device or visit even if you do not actively interact with the embedded content.

Where appropriate, we may therefore block or delay non-essential embedded content until the necessary preference has been selected.

14. First-party and third-party technologies

Some cookies and technologies are operated directly through Kirk Skin Reset.

Others are supplied by third parties.

Where a third party provides analytics, advertising, booking, payment, ecommerce or other functionality, that provider may receive information generated through its technology in accordance with our configuration and its contractual role.

Third-party providers may alter the cookies or technologies they use. We therefore periodically review our integrations and may update this Policy or our cookie settings interface.

Further information about third parties that process personal information on our behalf or for their own purposes will be included in our Privacy Policy.

15. International processing

Some technology providers may process information in countries other than the country from which you access Kirk Skin Reset.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will address applicable transfer safeguards and related information in our Privacy Policy.

16. How to manage cookies and similar technologies

The easiest way to control optional technologies used on Kirk Skin Reset is through our Cookie Settings control.

You may also be able to control or delete cookies through your browser or device settings.

Most browsers allow you to:

  • see which cookies are stored;

  • delete cookies;

  • block some or all cookies;

  • prevent third-party cookies;

  • clear local website data; and

  • adjust privacy or tracking preferences.

Browser controls operate separately from Kirk Skin Reset’s cookie settings.

Blocking all cookies may interfere with functions that depend on strictly necessary technologies.

Some browsers, devices and third-party providers also provide privacy signals or opt-out mechanisms. Their effect may vary depending on the technology, jurisdiction and provider involved.

17. Your privacy choices

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you additional rights in relation to personal information generated through tracking technologies.

These rights may include rights to access, delete, correct, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain targeted advertising or sharing practices.

Our Privacy Policy provides further information about personal information and privacy rights.

Nothing in this Cookie Policy is intended to limit any right available to you under applicable law.

18. Children

Kirk Skin Reset is designed primarily for an adult audience and is not directed at children.

We do not intend to use health-related information provided through our services to create behavioural advertising profiles of children.

If our services materially change so that children are likely to use them, we will review our privacy and tracking practices accordingly.

19. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect:

  • changes to our website or services;

  • changes to the technologies we use;

  • changes to service providers;

  • new ecommerce, consultation, booking, advertising or affiliate functionality;

  • changes in law, regulation or regulatory guidance; or

  • improvements to our privacy practices.

The date at the top of this page shows when this Policy was last updated.

Where required by law, we will obtain fresh consent before using information for a materially different purpose or before activating technologies that require new consent.
